Co-operative Insurance has been investing in grassroots sport since the 1970s and we’re committed to supporting sport at all levels. Grassroots sport has a vital role to play in society, not only giving children the opportunity to benefit from regular exercise but also to learn about teamwork and develop social and sporting skills. Sport can also deliver a real feel good factor and feeling of personal pride.
Alongside our sponsorship of the CIS Insurance Cups in Scotland and Northern Ireland we have a programme of grassroots initiatives throughout the UK including football coaching and providing kits and equipment to junior teams. Since the programme was launched in 1999 we have provided football kits to over 2,700 junior teams and football coaching for over 14,000 children.
